Since its beginning in 1971, Information & Quality Healthcare (IQH), an independent, not-for-profit, Mississippi corporation, has secured the trust of the state’s healthcare community as a result of its depth of experience, knowledge, and longevity of the staff and its solid base of physician support. IQH has approximately 1500 physician members.
IQH is the federally designated Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for the state, under contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), an agency of the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services. Its 40-year history began with the name of Mississippi Foundation for Medical Care, and continues as IQH, focusing on the goal of improving the quality of health care for the state’s Medicare consumers. Changing the name to Information & Quality Healthcare reflects the emphasis of quality and the importance of information sharing.
